Homecoming is just around the corner and you know what that means: spirit week! Spirit week happens the week leading up to homecoming when LFHS’ student council comes up with different themes for each day of the week.
This year, student council chose the following themes for spirit week:
Monday: PJ’s/ Adam Sandler
Tuesday: class distinction
- Seniors: togas
- Juniors: decades
- Sophomores: Hawaiian / vacation
- Freshmen: USA
Wednesday: Color wars
- Seniors: pink
- Juniors: blue
- Sophomores: red
- Freshman: green
Thursday: Jersey day
Friday: Scout out!
I think it is important for every student to participate in spirit week. This helps bring students together by creating a community. It is fun to show spirit in general, but it’s even more fun to show Scout spirit and represent LFHS.
Junior student council member Sophia Brincat talked about the benefits and fun aspects of being involved in spirit week.
“Spirit week is something fun the whole school can participate in. It can take your mind off of stressful situations as you dress up for fun and embrace your school spirit with friends and teachers leading up to homecoming,” said Brincat.
Something that can make spirit week even better is if everyone participates. This will help bring together the Scout community and give everyone a sense of belonging. If you participate yourself, it’s important to encourage others to participate. Most freshmen don’t know the enjoyment that spirit week can bring. In order to make the scout community better, make sure to participate in spirit week!
