HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — Tuesday night brought storms and a top five super-sectional show down between Scouts men’s lacrosse and Loyola Academy.

The Scouts defeated St. Viator eight to five in the Lake Forest Sectional Championship. Loyola faced off against cross town rival New Trier in their Sectional Championship eight to seven.

The Scouts dominated the game from the start, junior Lucas Kroner scored in the first four minutes and they never looked back. Senior goaltender Augie Silver had the game of his high school career, putting up a shutout through three quarters before finally letting in a goal in the fourth quarter.

It has been since the 2014-2015 season (per MaxPreps) that the Scouts have beaten the Ramblers, including a state championship match up in the 2021-2022 season.

“It’s always been the biggest game of the season and to be able to do something that hasn’t been done in a really long time is fantastic.” is how senior attack Collin Pfeifle described the win.

The Scouts advance to play St. Ignatius at Hinsdale Central in the IHSA State Series Final Four on Thursday night.
