Sunrise Rocks is a community event and block party coming to Lake Bluff at Sunrise Park on May 26th from 3 p.m to 9 p.m.
This event is taking place on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, ensuring it will be a time for everyone to enjoy fun and free time with plenty of activities to participate in.
At the event you can expect to find live music, family fun, and food trucks. There will also be local foundations that will be there for participants to support. Some foundations include the Zachary Porter Foundation, the Alliance for Excellence, and Bluffers in Need.
This event has a philanthropic feeling, encouraging community members to donate to foundations and charities.
The Zachary Porter Foundation celebrates and honors the life of a man who cherished his community and his everlasting impact among all who knew him.
“The Zachary Porter Fund will help subsidize enrichment activities, including music lessons, sports, park programs, and outdoor field trips, for kids who would not otherwise have the access to the same opportunities,” as stated on the Sunrise Rocks Website.
Additionally, the Lake Bluff community has been donating to the The Alliance for Excellence Foundation for over 25 years, allowing for teachers and children to have support in education.
The last foundation included is The Bluffers In Need Fund. This is an organization that takes a stand for students to ensure they will walk into an educational path with the resources they need.
All of these foundations play large roles in everyday lives of people in the community and have impacted many lives for the better.
The music lineup for this weekend includes: Brett Kreiner and Ryan Morril, The Luxmen with Louie Zagoras, Bushwood, and Nic Barnum Band. There will also be additional appearances and performances from the Lake Bluff school choirs.
Along with plenty of music and food for everyone, there will also be an opportunity to participate in a free yoga class sponsored by Toned Yoga, a local yoga studio in Lake Bluff. This yoga class is a flow class which is good for beginners or anyone who wants to get a peaceful yoga experience.
