The 2024 CROYA Battle of The Bands continued the long standing tradition in a new setting this year. For the first time it was hosted in the student union foyer at CROYA. Three bands performed five to six songs.
G.O.O.S.E performed first playing classic rock including songs like Johnny B Goode by Chuck Berry and Twist and Shout by The Beatles. Anomalist, spearheaded by Nick Pizzo at vocals and guitar, performed next, playing a unique mix of scream metal and metalcore. The final act, Something or other, performed a wide array of pieces, including two songs from Weezer, the Free Bird guitar solo, Egg by The Garden, as well as an originally written piece called “mac and cheese. ”
“Amazing, the crowd was singing along and everybody, not just us, had fun,”said senior Evan Haussermann of the band Something or Other.
