Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages! Be prepared to be amazed, surprised, and shocked when Talent Show reveals Liam The Magic Man. Appearing for only three shows on the RMA Stage during Talent Show, Liam The Magic Man will perform a series of magic that is guaranteed to thrill and amaze.

What you will see these nights has been years in the making. Careful, extensive preparations over the past six years have  led to this series of shows. Under the watchful tutelage of experts over the past few years, Liam The Magic Man has perfected his skill.

But behind the glamor and glitz of Liam the Magic Man is Liam Sheridan. He started his magic career in third grade, when he received a magic kit for Christmas. From the beginning, Sheridan fell in love with the performance and the reaction of his audience.

“The best part about magic is being able to provide a moment so impossible that people of any age cannot comprehend,” Sheridan said.

Liam the Magic Man is no stranger to the stage. He has performed all around the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff areas. Whether at parties, restaurants, or even his middle school during Covid virtual learning, he loves to perform.

Although Sheridan is mostly self-taught, he looks up to his mentors and idols. He attended the Tannen’s Magic Camp for a week and was amazed by all that he learned and all of the incredible people he met.

Beyond camp, he has been able to work with and attend lectures by some of magic’s most talented performers, including David Copperfield, David Blain, and Penn & Teller, Asi Wind, Shin Lim, Danny Garcia, Mark Calabrese, Nick Diffate, and many more.

The Talent Show Committee loved Liam The Magic Man so much that Sheridan has two acts.

“I have created 2 acts that have been designed from the ground up to amaze the audience. The act in the first half is all camp themed and the second half is one of my favorite tricks that I have adapted to fit the big stage in the RMA,” Sheridan said.

As a freshman, taking on two acts solo can be overwhelming. However, Sheridan has had years of theater performance on top of magic. Including starring in a One Act, This Is A Test, and as Calvin in A Wrinkle in Time here at LFHS alone. Additionally, Sheridan, known for his excitement and energy, is ready to take on this challenge.

“It is a little nerve wracking, especially my act requiring precision in every aspect … [but] I am super excited to share two of my favorite routines I have ever designed,” Sheridan said.

Finally, Sheridan loves the Talent Show family and is so excited to share his family with the Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood communities.

“I love how everyone supports each other in this family.  Even the people you don’t see on stage like the amazing staff,  awesome tech crew, and the new media team, work for hours planning and rehearsing all of the acts. I am so grateful to have all of these peers and staff here to help bring my act and others up to their full potential!” Sheridan said.

Liam the Magic Man is appearing in Camp Talent Show Thursday, Friday, and  Saturday at 7 p.m.
