100-Word Stories: It’s all in a Dream

100-Word Stories: It's all in a Dream

TFS Staff

The Forest Scout has launched a new series: 100-Word Stories. We plan to share 100  funny, poignant, memorable stories from the students, faculty, and staff of LFHS. Each story will be exactly 100 words.

This week, we asked students to tell us about their strangest dreams.

Alessandra Bisulca’s weirdest dream started at Lake Bluff Beach. It was a gray, foggy evening, and a pod of orcas was swimming close to shore. One of the killer whales transformed into a little girl and led Alessandra to the water plant nearby. They broke inside to find a storage room lit by a single light bulb, filled with dusty armoires. Inside the drawers were gold coins and ornate jewelry that belonged to Queen Elizabeth. The two snatched armfuls of valuables and ran out the building. Then the little girl went into the lake and transformed back into an orca.

Senior Evan Sloan had a dream about being a professional cornhole player in British Columbia. Unfortunately, Evan’s MVP-caliber season was cut short because he burned his tongue while eating his grandmother’s chicken pot pie. In order to cure his injury and save his season, Evan consulted the Ancient One. Evan was forced to spend a fortnight battling the ice children in the pit to defeat the curse of the scorched mouth. After slaughtering all the ice children, Evan was granted the Creamsicle of Fate to heal his burnt tongue. He then won the championship of the British Columbian Cornhole League.

Senior Wael Halabi suddenly found himself, along with three of his friends, dressed in camo and crouched behind a large boulder. His objective was clear: kill all of the blue people. As he crept around to the side of the boulder and began firing his nerf gun at the sea of blue people firing back at him, his friend yelled, “Fall back!” He got up and ran into the building behind him. Once inside Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory, he and his friends were quickly overrun. Suddenly, Iron Man smashed through the ceiling and swooped in to save Wael and his friends.

When senior Kareem Alsikafi was eight years old, one of his nightmares took him on a run for his life. A mob of men in black suits stormed into his room interrogating him in a unknown language. Quick-thinking Kareem escaped before they could drag him into their black SUVS; he decided to travel the world in order to lose them. Unfortunately, when Kareem traveled across the ocean to Tokyo, they were right over his shoulder. When he finally fell victim to the mysterious villains, he awoke from his dream before he could find out what would happen next.
