Why Elf Is The Best Christmas Movie
December 6, 2022
There is a lot of controversy around what Christmas movie is the best to watch. This question has been prevalent in all my classes and answers definitely vary a lot.
But I’m here to say that Elf starring Will Ferrel takes the win. I could list about a million reasons why Elf is the best Christmas movie.
Elf is one of the first Christmas movies I remember watching. Those childhood memories truly are unmatched.
Starting off with a bang, Will Ferrell is the lead role in this movie playing a human elf from the North Pole, Buddy. He really is just perfect as an actor. There is not one bad movie that Will Ferrell is in. He delivered some of the most iconic scenes in that movie that people continue to quote all the time, even when Christmas is months away.
I’m not a huge movie person myself, I just find myself going on my phone because I get bored, but not with Elf. It’s so weird that it’s so good.
This is one unique movie and you can’t tell me otherwise. What other movie could have people trying spaghetti with syrup, marshmallows, M&M’s, and sprinkles on it? Ferrell does things that no one really sees in real life and that’s what makes the movie so good.
The stupidity of Elf is why I like it. Every age audience can watch Elf and enjoy it. You’re not only keeping your eyes on the movie, but you’re feeling all the emotions as the movie goes on.
The plot of Elf is unmatched and you can tell it’s original and creative. Every Christmas movie is just a boring Hallmark romance that becomes repetitive and unrealistic, with some type of conflict that “ruins Christmas” and then everything ends up working out. Not with Elf. Elf has a beginning, middle, and end. It has an amazing hook and it never gets old.
Think of all the Christmas movies that made a sequel because people get sick of the first one, not Elf. That movie never gets boring.
Elf isn’t just a one-theme movie, it covers all the themes that happen on Christmas. The movie covers comedy, but it also covers Buddy learning more about family, and friendship throughout the relationships and situations.
The setting of elf is also a huge part of it, they could not have chosen a better location than New York City. I mean everything can be done there during the holidays and that’s exactly what Buddy does.
Elf really stole the show on this one and you can’t tell me otherwise.
