Are The Chicago Bulls Legit?
Staff Writer Ceff “Junior” Diaz gives his take on DeMar DeRozan’s impact and how far the Bulls can go.
February 1, 2022
Throughout this season, forward DeMar DeRozan has had a huge impact on the Chicago Bulls’ success, always seeming to make sure they get the win at whatever cost.
With the Bulls sitting at the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference (30-18), a playoff berth is becoming more and more likely every day. An appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals may even be in the books for the Bulls, especially with DeRozan having an All-Star and even possibly MVP-worthy year.
DeRozan has managed to help the Bulls overcome their losing streak they had when 2 of their All-Stars, Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine, were injured for multiple games. With LaVine returning and the Bulls gaining momentum after winning their last game against the Toronto Raptors (DeRozan led with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, with the help of Zach LaVine with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists), DeMar and LaVine have managed to work together lead the Bulls to the playoffs.
Or have they?
The Bulls came up short to the San Antonio Spurs, losing by 9 points. DeMar finished with 32 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds while LaVine finished with 30 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Through all the injuries and the current dry spell, I still believe the Bulls will be able to continue to do great things. I believe they will make the playoffs and compete to get a shot at the Eastern Conference Finals, and maybe even compete for the championship.
