Colin Martens

Colin Martens

Over the course of senior Colin Martens’ high school career, he has certainly made his mark through a variety of school activities. Martens’ involvement in clubs, ranging from managing the Girls Varsity Volleyball team in the fall to playing for himself on the Boys Varsity Volleyball team in the spring, his schedule is packed. But Martens is still willingly ready to volunteer his time to other parts of LFHS.

Even as he juggles his school work, athletics, and social life, Colin proves to be a well-rounded individual who always strives to put in his best effort.

“Colin is always ahead of his work and constantly motivates his friends to do the same,” senior Carly Kisselle said.

With his contagious energy, as well as his humorous and witty personality, people naturally gravitate towards Colin and want to be near his amusing presence. Colin is unapologetically himself and encourages others to work their hardest.

“Colin is one of the best people I know,” senior Maeve Chlystek said. “He’s an amazing friend to everyone and works so hard at everything he does. To know him is to love him.”

At the end of his junior year, Martens applieddecided to apply for the Student Council position of Senior Class Vice President and has been successfully filling the role ever since. Colin’s work ethic and attitude qualify him as a worthy co-leader of the Student Council and representative for our senior class.

Despite this stressful period of college applications along with juggling challenging classes, Martens still decided to take on the role of Senior Class Vice President and is currently a very significant member of the team.

“Colin is no doubt the best VP I could ask for,” Senior Class President Charlotte Andress said. “He brings energy and dedication to everything he does. He juggles so many things at once but somehow is always willing and ready to take on more. Even during the most stressful times of Student Council he finds a way to make everyone around him laugh with his blunt honesty.”
