Delaney Gavin

Anyone who knows senior Delaney Gavin knows that she is just about the nicest, funniest, most caring  person around

“She is shy but not around people that she knows well,” said senior Corey Trela, “One time during lunch I was walking down the sidewalk on McKinley to my car during lunch and she was driving by me. She saw me walking by myself and she picked me up and we went to get smoothies!”

Delaney lives a very busy, well-rounded life. She is an active participant in school: a student-athlete who finds time to socialize with her friends regularly while making time for her hobbies.

“The funniest story I have of her is when we played a rock, paper, scissors tournament in economics class this year. It was finally our turn to face each other, and we chose the same thing every time; the game lasted 23 rounds,” said senior Hannah Ziperstien.

In the last four years, Delaney has been a part of the cross country team, as well as the track team. But her main passion lies outside of school. Delaney is a dedicated competitive horseback rider. She commits 5-8 hours a week just to practice and training. This does not include the hours she spends on the weekend at competitions.

“I’ve known Delaney for about 15 years, and we’ve been best friends for the entirety of that time. If I’m ever feeling down one day, I can always count on her to pick me up. She has one of the biggest hearts and always checks up on people, which is one of her best characteristics,” said Hannah Zipersrien.
