Gianni Royer
It’s not often you get to play a varsity sport as a sophomore, and it’s even less likely to play with your older brother on the same team. For sophomore Gianni Royer, that has been the case this baseball season.
Royer has spent countless hours hitting in the cage and fielding ground balls to get to this point, and it certainly has paid off.
“It’s crazy to see someone so young be so fundamentally sound on the baseball field,” said senior teammate Ian Dillow. “Sometimes I forget he’s a sophomore. He’s going to be very fun to watch the next couple of years.”
Royer grinded away at practice and that earned him the starting job at second base this year. He has started every game.
“It’s really cool being able to play with him and seeing what he’s like at practice,” senior Rocco Royer said. “I get to see him at home all the time, so it’s fun to see what he’s like away from home and doing something he loves.”
Due to his work ethic and his talent, you should expect to hear Gianni Royer’s name for the next two years.
