Connor Boyle

Connor Boyle

Connor Boyle is stressed out. All of the time.

Taking multiple AP and honor classes isn’t necessarily atypical for a sophomore, yet Boyle somehow finds a way to keep working until 11:59 p.m. just about every night.

To be fair, he makes his hectic schedule work for him, even when he’s calling on his upperclassmen friends to ask if he’s “doing it right.”

“He’s constantly ranting to me and asking what classes he should be taking,” senior Mary Clayton said. “Connor is literally so frazzled about school, yet he refuses to take a study hall. It’s so hilarious honestly.”

Outside of the classroom, Boyle wields the titles of “varsity athlete” and “drama king,” as he has been involved with both theatre and swimming since his freshman year. Whether in the pool or on the stage, he still manages to show off his talents despite the stress he’s under.

Boyle particularly excels as a performer, branding himself early in his career as a diverse character actor. He is currently taking on two eccentric roles in the  “upcoming production of “Spamalot”: one requiring an outrageous French accent, and the other fating him to a death by shovel.

“Connor can be put into any role and just naturally understand how to play the character,” said junior Amelia Myers. “He has such a wide range in what parts he’s able to play because of this, and his diversity really helps him shine.”

Given his abundance of commitments, Boyle’s most outstanding quality is his ability to persist. He can easily distinguish the difference between “grind time” and “chill time,” especially when it comes to furthering relationships with his peers.

Sophomore Karsen Albus appreciates Boyle’s tenacity, especially when it’s motivating her to follow his lead.

“Connor and I are sometimes up until 4am on Facetime just working,” she said. “It’s definitely not healthy, but it’s become a part of our routine. He is the only person with enough energy to keep me sane at four in the morning.”

Though Boyle is working on getting those Zzzs, his passion for every assignment, activity, and relationship he builds is clear.

Said Albus: “A lack of sleep will not stop Connor Boyle, no matter how hard it tries.”
