Pierce Docherty

Pierce Docherty

Senior Pierce Docherty’s jokes can cause a room of the most apathetic teenagers to crack a smile and somehow make E-learning an enjoyable experience.

Docherty’s comedic personality shines throughout the school, whether in the music department, in a new theatrical production, or in the cafeteria line with friends.

“Pierce is genuinely one of funniest people I have ever met in my life,” said alum Alec Boyd. “I remember doing a One Act with him my junior year, and I was so jealous of how well he got the audience to laugh at his jokes.”

Really, there is no one word or sentence that can truly sum Pierce Docherty up. He is a man of many talents and wonders. To understand exactly who he is, you have to meet him face-to-face and just wait for a smile to surface on your face.

I was so excited to see Pierce in my AP Lit class this year,” said English teacher Lance Ferges. “He was in my E1H as a freshman and always made the class fun with his sense of humor, bizarre knowledge of pop culture from long before he was born, and his ability to just make us all laugh. Guess what? He hasn’t changed at all in those respects — but now is all grown up.”

But Docherty has proven to be much more than just “comedic relief.”  Nothing about him is one dimensional; he dedicates himself to being a pillar of support for his friends, a hardworking student in the classroom, and a friendly face to just about everyone in between.

“Pierce is probably the most well-spoken person I know. He is a very easy person to joke with and he loves to laugh. He can appeal to most people quickly with the friendliness of his words and the tone of his voice in conversations,” said senior Brad Norkus.

For his classmates, friends, and teachers, there is always something to love about Docherty, whether it’s his acting skills, work ethic, his corny jokes, or his sarcasm.

“Pierce can make the whole room laugh with his jokes and contagious laugh. He makes plays and musicals much more fun,” said senior Grace Benson. “He’s a true friend, and I’m glad that he’s one of mine.”
