Name: Abby Rich
School: University of Colorado – Boulder
Location: Boulder, Colorado
Mascot: Buffaloes (“Buffs”)
Why? “I chose Boulder mostly because I love how close the campus is to the mountains, and I love spending time outside.”
What are you most excited for? “I can’t wait to meet new people and spend more time on the mountains!”
Name: Sheridan Young
School: University of Arizona
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Mascot: Wildcats
Why? “I’ve always known I wanted to go to school in Arizona, it’s such a beautiful state. I’ve grown up going there my whole life to visit family and having them close by will be super comforting.”
What are you most excited for? “I’m super excited to meet new people and definitely being in the warm weather!”
Name: Lily Laufenberg
School: University of Mississippi
Location: Oxford, Mississippi
Mascot: Rebels (Nickname: Landsharks)
Why? “I don’t exactly know how to explain it but when I visited the campus I felt a feeling of comfort and acceptance. Everyone there was so nice and I felt at home. From that first moment I knew I belonged at Ole Miss. They also have a great program for helping with undecided majors, which is great because I have no idea what to do.”
What are you most excited for? “I’m most excited to meet new people and experience a whole different part of the country.”
Name: Jake Kovanda
School: Arizona State University
Location: Tempe, Arizona
Mascot: Sun Devil
Why? “I chose ASU because I despise the Midwest and because it’s an urban setting and I got into their business school.”
What are you most excited for? “I’m most excited about the social gatherings and the warm weather.”
Name: Oliver Pasquesi
School: Clemson University
Location: Clemson, South Carolina
Mascot: Tigers
Why? “I didn’t really have any expectations going to the campus for our first visit. I didn’t know much about the school but my dad had said he had heard a lot of good things about it. Upon visiting, the school gave off this aura that made me feel at home. I liked the engineering program, the campus, and the opportunities that the school offers. I’m visiting again this spring break to get a second view of everything and I’m sure I’ll like it just as much as the first time.”
What are you most excited for? Although it will be tough to leave my close friends and family here at home, I’m excited to branch out and meet new people and make more friends. With this, I’m also excited for the independence college will offer.”
