College Corner reviews 5 seniors every week on where they have decided to attend next year, what they’re excited for, and what they love about it.
Name: Lauren Plante
School: University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign
Location: Champaign County, Illinois
Mascot: Illini
Why? “I overlooked Illinois for a while, but after hearing about it from my sister and visiting, I knew it was right for me. It has a good balance of social and study life and a really good business program. The people there are really genuine and it’s only a two-and-a-half-hour drive if I ever need to go home, which is also super nice.”
What are you most excited for? “I’m really excited to meet new people and partake in all the Greek life, sporting events, and other college activities. Overall, I’m really excited to start a new chapter and better myself.”

School: Colorado State University
Location: Fort Collins, Colorado

Why? “I chose CSU because it has a great location in northern Colorado, especially for skiing which is super nice.”
What are you most excited for? “I’m excited to figure out what I want to do as a career.”
Name: Gabby Franko
School: Miami University
Location: Oxford, Ohio
Mascot: RedHawks
Why? “I chose Miami because when I visited it felt like I was so welcomed and that I could’ve stayed there forever and not get bored. I loved everything about it and I couldn’t think of one thing I would change about it.”
What are you most excited for? “I’m most excited to meet new people and making new friendships with people from all over.”

Why? “I chose Illinois because the wrestling team and people there felt like family.”
What are you most excited for? “I am most excited about living independently and meeting new people.”

Why? “I chose Belmont because I loved the atmosphere of the campus! I knew that going into the college search that I wanted to go south and Belmont was the perfect choice for me.”
What are you most excited for? “I’m so excited to live in the “music city” and listen to live bands. I’m also really excited to go to the Belmont basketball games and join clubs! #gobruins”
