Foods For Immunity – The Top 20 Foods/Drinks To Get You Through Cold and Flu Season

CC Carter and Megan Lewis

As the weather gets colder, nasty sickness seems to become more common. Looking ahead to one of the worst flu seasons yet, it’s very important to make sure we are taking every precaution necessary to boost our immunity as much as we can.

Certain foods have special properties that can boost antioxidants in your body and can reduce your chances of getting sick this season, or at least minimize the effects illness has on your body. The key to fighting off the flu and other seasonal illnesses is variety. Eating and drinking too much or too little of something will not ward off these sicknesses as much as we may think.  Some of the most common viral infections we might see this season are the common cold, Norovirus, Strep Throat, Croup, and Influenza. Furthermore, physical struggles will also be common like dry skin, cold sores, painful joints, sore throat, and asthma.
