Spencer,there are some quality albums on there, and I know it is hard to avoid a recency bias and that’s why some of those are on there…but how in the world is Licensed to Ill not on the all-time rap album bracket??
It’s literally the first rap album to top the charts. The Beastie Boys accidentally lit the fuse for the gangsta rap explosion of the 90s with those 13 tracks. It’s loud, it’s impossible to ignore. And without it, so many of the rappers on this list never pick up a microphone, or at least not in the same way.
Give the Beasties the credit they deserve!
