Playlists In Person: Study with John Powell
November 29, 2018
John Powell has composed music for over 50 feature films but some of his most recognizable pieces are from How To Train Your Dragon, Robots, Shrek, Ice Age, X-men, and Rio. A previous member of Remote Control Productions, Powell has collaborated with a variety of great composers such as Harry Gregson-Williams, David Buckley, and Hans Zimmer. Beginning his careering in film scoring, Powell composed his first film score for the film Stay Lucky in 1990. Then, in 1998, Powell co-scored Antz (the first film produced by DreamWorks Animation) with Harry Gregson-Williams. His work is as diverse as it is vast and will provide the ideal background track to any situation provided.
