NFL Week 11 Preview: Who has the league’s top offense? We will find out Monday night

NFL Week 11 Preview: Who has the league's top offense? We will find out Monday night

Michael Raupp, Contributor

Overall Record (started in Week 2): 86-40-1

Dallas Cowboys (4-5) vs Atlanta Falcons (4-5)

Noon (FOX)

The Cowboys, who salvaged their season Sunday night, look to keep the momentum they gained last week into this Sunday. Meanwhile, the Falcons lost their three game win streak in an embarrassing loss against the Cleveland Browns. Every team has been tearing up the Falcons’ defense this season, but Matt Ryan individually is having one of the best seasons out of any quarterback in the league. Despite his numbers, the Falcons have a real chance in missing the playoffs, however, Ryan’s success will continue, lifting the Falcons to victory.

Pick: Cowboys 28, Falcons 34

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2-1) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6)

Noon (CBS)

When the schedule came out, this was another game football fans had circled on their calendars, but the Jaguars have underwhelmed all season long. In fact, the game was originally scheduled for Sunday night, but to my elation, the Bears now play underneath the lights at Soldier Field for first place against the Minnesota Vikings. The Steelers, meanwhile, have held their side of the bargain leading up to his one. Le’veon Bell’s days as a Steeler appear over after missing the deadline to be eligible to play, and Steeler players have ransacked Bell’s locker, reiterating the team has moved on. Bell’s replacement, James Connor, has not missed a step in his absence and at this point, the team is probably pleased they have saved money for the offseason free agency period to address other weaknesses on their roster. Connor will stay hot in this one, and the Steelers take firm control of the AFC North.

Pick: Steelers 31, Jaguars 20

Houston Texans (6-3) vs Washington Redskins (6-3)

Noon (CBS)

Washington’s beat up offensive line due to their plethora of injuries managed to hold up versus Tampa Bay last week, however, faces a completely different animal this week. The Redskins record still seems like a fluke heading in the backstretch of the season, but can clearly separate from the rest of the division with a victory. This will not be easy as the Texans have won six straight. Houston is coming fresh off a bye and with the team becoming healthier, the Redskins must get more than what they have been on offense if they want to contend for something more than their weak division.

Pick: Texans 27, Redskins 17

Tennessee Titans (5-4) vs Indianapolis Colts (4-5)

Noon (CBS)

Both teams have made up ground in the playoff chase with the way they played as of late. The Colts have not nearly had to play the level of competition as Tennessee, nonetheless, are back in the final wild card discussion. After defeating the Patriots handily last week, the Titans have showed the league they are a disciplined bunch, and Marcus Mariota has shown flashes what made him a top two pick a few years back. Additionally, the Titans’ defense has allowed the least points in the league per game and with the help of their offense, the Titans can keep up the success, similarly to what they found last week.

Pick: Titans 27, Colts 23

Carolina Panthers (6-3) vs Detroit Lions (3-6)

Noon (FOX)

Both teams have a shot to get out of the loss column and back into the win column after a disappointing Week 10. The Lions cannot seem to protect Matthew Stafford and have taken away his favorite target. Meanwhile, the Panthers got pummeled last Thursday night, defeated 52-21 by the Steelers. The Lions’ defense has had trouble stopping any team this season, and this seems like the ideal situation for Christian McCaffery and Co. to get back on track.

Pick: Panthers 38, Lions 24

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-6) vs New York Giants (2-7)

Noon (FOX)

The Giants got their second win of the season Monday night, albeit against the San Francisco 49ers. They find themselves facing another team that is far from superior, especially on defense. The Buccaneers have had trouble holding onto the football and establishing any sort of run game. If Eli Manning can have the luxury to be protected, Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham will have a field day for the Giants and fantasy owners alike.

Pick: Buccaneers 17, Giants 26

Cincinnati Bengals (5-4) vs Baltimore Ravens (4-5)

Noon (CBS)

The health of Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco is certainly in question, but if he does not play, this could be the first game where rookie Lamar Jackson takes the reins atop the quarterback depth chart. The Bengals appear to be slipping after their hot start to the season, and this could be the perfect matchup for Lamar Jackson to get his feet wet as the Bengals present no threat on defense to blindside the young and eager rookie. If Jackson plays, though, he must stay grounded to the playbook as this game is a must win for the sake of their season.

Pick: Bengals 24, Ravens 30

Denver Broncos (3-6) vs Los Angeles Chargers (7-2)

3:05 (CBS)

The Chargers are one of the hottest teams in the league with six straight wins, all without their staple on defense: Joey Bosa. Philip Rivers is quietly having one of his best seasons, but the Broncos have been competitive in their recent losses. Although Denver has lost six of their last seven, they lost to the Rams, Chiefs, Texans by a touchdown or less. Whenever divisional rivals face, the game can get chippy, but this cannot go without saying Case Keenum needs to take better care of the football if an upset is said to be in store.

Pick: Broncos 23, Chargers 31

Oakland Raiders (1-8) vs Arizona Cardinals (2-7)

3:05 (CBS)

With the first pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select… There is nothing to look forward to in this game — nothing. The Cardinals have no capable lineman to protect their rookie quarterback Josh Rosen, and the Raiders have false rumors spreading around their club of a player announcing his retirement. Possibly, the only positive in this game is David Johnson–finally– got the football more. Well, since Jon Gruden is trying to find every way to ‘tank,’ the Cardinals will get a HUGE victory for their season… just kidding.

Pick: Raiders 20, Cardinals 23

Philadelphia Eagles (4-5) vs New Orleans Saints (8-1)

3:25 (FOX)

The Eagles took a beating last week against the Cowboys, not only losing the game, but losing cornerback Ronald Darby in the process. It is getting late for the Eagles to turn the season around like we all expected and the ill-tempered Philly fans are starting to return to form once again. It will be hard to expect any turnaround this week as the Saints are possibly the most dangerous, complete team in the whole league; the Saints have won eight straight games and are playing at home, which is hard for any caliber of team to play in. Drew Brees and Co. will continue their dominance and move a game closer to reaching double digit wins, but the Eagles could put up some points and make this game more interesting.

Pick: Eagles 34, Saints 41

Minnesota Vikings (5-3-1) vs Chicago Bears (6-3)

7:20 (NBC)

The Bears have been the talk of the league with all of the attention their surprising play has brought to their team. The league recently flexed this matchup to Sunday night football and in two weeks, they are playing yet again at home Sunday night versus the Los Angeles Rams; Chicago also plays on national television Thanksgiving day in Detroit next Thursday. With a victory this Sunday, the Bears can really cement themselves a real contender in the NFC, but with a loss, makes the NFC North must watch television. Either way this game turns out, this division will come down to the wire between the Bears and Vikings with possibly the Packers finding their way in the conversation. Khalil Mack is close to full health, and Mitchell Trubisky is looking more like a starting NFL quarterback each week, possibly coming off his best game of his young career last Sunday. Kirk Cousins has been airing the football out and has had great success, but this one is meant for Chicago to take and run with.

Pick: Vikings 23, Bears 28

Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) vs Los Angeles Rams (9-1)

7:15 (ESPN)

This game has already been full of chaos; the league moved this game from being played in Mexico City to Los Angeles due to the unsafe field conditions for the teams to be playing in. It is sure this game will be an offensive shootout as both have the league’s top two in football. However, the Rams’ defense has struggled, especially their secondary. The Rams will be without receiver Cooper Kupp for the rest of the season and the Chiefs’ defense has looked better ever since pash rusher Justin Houston has returned. This game certainly will come down to a defensive stop late in the game, which feels like the Chiefs have enough playmakers on defense to do so. However this game turns out, if you like scoring, this is the game for you.

Pick: Chiefs 38, Rams 31
