Mother Trust collecting coats for annual winter drive
November 12, 2018
Mother Trust Foundation, a Lake Forest based program that lends a helping hand to children in Lake County, is having their annual coat drive that ends this week. The teen board, led by senior Samantha Dueringer, plans, collects, sorts, and distributes coats each year.
“I love being able to help so many people in our neighboring communities. It truly makes my heart so happy,” said Dueringer.
Last year, in one hour, the teens distributed more than 1,000 coats. This allowed for all of those who donated coats to have a positive impact on families.
In order to help get more coats of specific sizes, the teen board will be hosting a fundraiser at The Silo Restaurant Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Part of the money made will go to benefit Mother’s Trust coat drive. The Silo will also be collecting coats during the fundraiser.
Listed below are the places accepting donations for any winter gear. Please consider helping those in our community who are in need.
