In our fast-paced and high-stressed life, it can be easy to get sucked into our own world and forget that there are many people out there who need our support. Therefore, it is important that, when an opportunity arises to help others, we come together to provide a helping hand.
LFHS senior Kimberly Han, for one, decided that she would do her part and use her piano-playing skills to help others by organizing her own fundraiser concert.
“There are a lot of people out there who don’t have people taking care of them, and I want to do something for them. I want to help them,” Han said.
The first annual Alzheimer’s Association Fundraiser Concert will be held on Oct. 21 from 2-4 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Forest. Created to support the Alzheimer’s Association, the concert will be taking donations to support patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
For seniors who wish to do more to support the event, the concert is also a National Honors Society-certified event. Anyone willing to volunteer as an usher will be greatly appreciated.
If you are able to attend, please wear semi-formal dress with purple to show your support for Alzheimer’s patients.
