Heading into the IHSA sectional semi-final round, the Lake Forest Scouts traveled to Grayslake North to take on the Knights, a team that beat them 11-7 in the regular season. Looking to advance to the sectional final, the Scouts needed to take advantage of all their offensive possessions.
Heading into halftime, the Scouts only trailed 3-2 thanks to a late goal by Jack Mislinski. As both teams battled to keep their seasons alive, the Scouts comeback fell short, resulting in a 10-7 loss. Jack Mislinski led the way with three goals and Luke Milliman added two. Mead Payne and Connor Armstrong each contributed one goal in the effort.
With the season over, the Scouts finish with a record of (12-7), with three of those losses coming from out of state. A special thanks to the seniors Matthew Barigazzi, Adam Johnson, Jack Kaptrosky, Luke Milliman, Jack Mislinski, Mead Payne, Jack Van Hyfte, Jack Powers, Collin Robinson, Owen Clarke, and Chris Cavalaris. The Scouts would also like to thank the statistician for this year’s team, Spencer Yauch. For Lake Forest, this is a difficult ending to a promising season, but the 2019 team returns a lot of talent and will look to go far in the IHSA playoffs yet again.
