Left or right, it does not matter. Disregard your political stance. Tomorrow represents an opportunity. Tomorrow’s opportunity allows you to have a choice and stick up for what you believe in.  It doesn’t matter how you feel. Tomorrow is designed to honor others.

Life is filled with choices. I, as a fellow student, encourage others to express their core beliefs. You have heard it before, but here it is again: Don’t conform to society. If you believe in wanting gun control and honoring the victims, walk out. If you believe in the second amendment and the right to bear arms, you can choose to stay inside. Whatever you believe, exercise your beliefs. This is an opportunity to research both opinions and objectively come up with your own. Allow this to be an opportunity stick up for your beliefs.

In events like this it can be hard for a highschooler to stick up for what you believe in, but it is essential to stay true to yourself. Throughout the course of our lives there will be times where we will have the chance to have our voices heard. Tomorrow at Lake Forest High School represents one of those opportunities. Tomorrow represents a time for your voice to be heard, either with your arms linked on the front lawn or with your arms crossed in the commons. Both represent the opinions of different students.

Neither option is right or wrong, both are opinions in nature. Both, however, represent opportunity. On Wednesday March 14, 2018 the only wrong decision that can be made is choosing an opinion that you don’t believe in. Be true to yourself and do what you want. While people might not agree with your beliefs specifically, people will respect your an informed opinion, regardless of what that may be.
