Margot Pierce
Once last period rolls around, many remote students have their cameras off, but not Senior Margot Pierce. Margot is fully engaged in each of her classes, no matter what period it is. While it may seem trivial, this small action says a lot about Margot’s character.
If you’ve ever had a class with Margot, you know that oftentimes, if not every time, she is the most active student in the room. She is constantly willing to give a helping hand to other students.
In her AP literature class, commonly known as one of the more difficult APs, Margot is killing it – constantly striving to understand a deeper interpretation of the text. Senior Finola Summerville describes Margot as brilliant.
“There is not any other way to describe her crazy level of intelligence. In my AP Lit class we jokingly call her Queen Margot because of how good she is at the class and is always finding nuances in the novel that no one else in the class even thought about.”
But that’s only one specific part of Margot Pierce. From a holistic view, Margot is a true renaissance woman. Margot is involved in the Math Team, Women in STEM, Book Club, and both Percussion Band and Orchestra, where she holds the position of board President. However, some may think that with a plethora of activities, she’s spread too thin. This is absolutely not the case for Margot, as she gives her all in each of the activities.
She excels in each of her extracurriculars, but more important than that, Margot truly is one of the most genuine people you will find at LFHS. While all of her peers acknowledge her high intellectual level in each of their classes, the thing that really stands out to everyone who comes across Margot is her courteous and lighthearted nature.
“When I joined symphony orchestra freshman year, I was super nervous about meeting people. Margot went right up to me, and that’s when I knew we’d be friends,” says senior Sydney Rubenstein. “I’m so thankful that the orchestra brought us together. Margot is someone I can text or talk to about anything. She is one of the most genuine people I know, she’s always been there for me. I’m so lucky to have her as a friend!”
Summerville also sees how much her character stands out in their rigorous classes: “But even in her brilliance, Margot is a friend to her classmates. She’s always willing to joke around and not take herself too seriously and that is one of the best things about being in a class with her.”
