Colin Sloan

Colin Sloan

Have you ever met someone who has actually made money playing Fortnite? Or someone who has an automatic kicking leg for the Scouts football team? If not, meet senior Colin Sloan, a legend here at LFHS.

About two years ago when Fortnite took the world by storm, everyone claimed to be good at the game. But Sloan actually played in professional tournaments and won a little money.

Sloan has such a unique and great sense of humor. He has the ability to make not only students but teachers and staff laugh. Once in the middle of  an extremely in-depth, challenging discussion in English about the riveting Macbeth, Sloan raised his hand and asked,“Do you know Joe?”

“Joe Who?” the teacher asked.

“Joe Momma!”

The random, tension-breaking joke made everyone, including the teachers, burst into laughter. (And, yes, this was last year when that joke was actually funny.)

Another day in the same class, students were tasked with drawing what they thought the power-hungry, increasingly mad Macbeth looked like. Sloan somehow managed to draw the ugliest, most vial portrait many of have ever seen; it was honestly impressive how ugly this creature was. He then proceeded to tell the teachers that he worked really hard and that he thought he depicted Macbeth well.  I’ve never seen one of my teachers laugh harder than that.

Aside from making people laugh, Sloan is the talented kicker for the Scouts. He’s hoping his hard work pays off during this year’s abbreviated season.

Sloan will attend Indiana University next year and will be remembered at by his classmates as a beloved and humorous guy.
