Tricia Gray
Starting the day before 8 a.m. with sprints through the Comp Gym isn’t for everyone. But it’s the perfect spot for junior Tricia Gray, who hustles through each drill. She is often the loudest one in the gym, encouraging her teammates through the toughest moments.
Tricia has an energetic, bubbly personality whether she is on or off the basketball court. On her off days, Tricia can be found studying diligently in order to excel in her rigorous courses.
Sophie Doucette, said she is impressed with Tricia’s ability to conquer hard classes despite a hectic schedule.
“Tricia is the sweetest and most hard working person I know. She effortlessly manages her time to be able to play on a varsity sport. She balances her difficult school schedule and also makes time to be an amazing friend.”
Not only does Tricia shine in the classroom, but she has found a spotlight for herself on the basketball court this year, gaining a starting spot for the Girls Varsity basketball team. She knew this year was the time to step up as the roster is young and inexperienced. Hard work was put in during the off-season and it is clearly seen by her coaches and teammates.
Assistant Coach Reanna Lindsey-Perera said she admires how hard Tricia works and commented on her ability to be an amazing teammate to everyone around her, on and off the court.
“I love how competitive Tricia is; she has worked so hard over the past year and it really shows. She is also super competitive and is always trying her hardest on the court. I love challenging her and watching her rise to the occasion. She is also one of our most vocal players and is always encouraging her teammates,” she said.
Sophomore teammate Bella Ranallo praised Tricia’s hard work and dedication.
“Tricia is a positive and hard working teammate. Her energy and strong work ethic helps our team succeed. She never fails to make me or the team laugh. Tricia is a sister to me,” she said.
