Murphy Moorhead

Murphy Moorhead

Remote learning has been a difficult situation for everyone, but especially freshmen who have been thrown into a community without the benefits of being in the building full time.

However, Murphy Moorhead is doing his best to not let e-learning interfere with his high school experience.

Mrs. Cooney, Murphy’s biology teacher, says “Murphy brings the ol’ ‘one-two’ to class and makes this whole remote learning situation so much better.”

From his sense of humor to his positive attitude, Murphy is sure to leave an impact on anyone he meets. Murphy also knows how to use his strong personality to his advantage.

Freshman Alexandra Mower grew up with Murphy and recalls their infamous lemonade stands. “We used to camp out with our homemade stand and Murphy would basically force every car to stop. We made a fortune each time,” said Mower.

The Moorhead family has also been long-time members of the Winter Club, where Murphy played hockey for their team, the Polar Bears. Fellow Polar Bear alum Charlie Drake said, “I was there for the first game he played at Winter Club when he scored the game-winning goal.”

Today, the two still play alongside each other for the Scouts, and according to Drake, “Now that he can stop on his left foot, Murph is all the more explosive and his speed is frightening when trying to defend him.”

And even in his downtime, Murphy still manages to keep a good spirit.

“Murphy and I have been friends for a long time. He’s the kind of friend where you can do absolutely nothing but still have the best time,” said freshman Logan Uihlein.

If you haven’t met Murphy yet, don’t worry, you will. He packs a punch of charisma that will leave an impact on the Scouts community, even more so than he has already.
