Jonmarc Ranallo

According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the term hardworking can be defined as “constantly, regularly, or habitually engaged in earnest and energetic work.” However, they might as well slap a picture of junior Jonmarc Ranallo next to it.

“The kid just knows how to compete,” says junior Cade Nowik. “No matter what we are doing, he’ll work his tail off to make sure he wins.”

The competitiveness comes from playing guard for the basketball team and playing infield for Slammers, as well as the Scouts. While COVID-19 has seemed to shut down the basketball season, he still looks forward to the spring for baseball.

Preparing for the upcoming season at Quest Performance Training, Jonmarc can be found there more than just about anyone.

“He sets the tone in the room,” said friend Leo Schiedler. “He’s a fierce competitor always looking to better himself and brings out the best in everyone trying to get them to give it there all just like he does.”

While he might come off as hardcore in the weight room, his presence outside of weight room is caring and humorous.

“He is the funniest guy,” said junior teammate Mikey Gray. “He is such a nice person to be around whether it’s at practice or just hanging out. You can always count on him to help you.”

While his brother is in his freshman year of college in Iowa, their bond is still stronger than ever.

“He is a great brother that works hard at everything he wants to accomplish,” said Anthony Ranallo. “With his dedication, drive, and passion, he will achieve great things. But remember, I will always lift more than him.”
