Senora Marni Levinson

Not many people show up to class with as much energy as Spanish teacher Marni Levinson. Señora “Lev” as students call her, always starts class each day playing her iconic upbeat Spanish music and with an unmatched love for teaching.

“Her attitude is just contagious,” said senior Ryan Cassidy. “If you’re having a bad day she will cheer you up as soon as you see her.”

Señora Lev brings with her an intense passion for running. She is one of the girls Varsity Cross Country team’s coaches. Levinson has also completed half marathons, triathlons, and marathons as a result of that passion.

Not only does she bring vibrant energy and the motivation to learn, Señora Lev also shows how much she cares about her students. She starts every class by asking how everyone is doing and if anybody needs to talk about anything.

“It’s really comforting to know someone else is there for me besides my family and friends,” said senior Flynn Bradley. “She just makes it comfortable to talk to her and that leads to more participation in class.”

Levinson also shows off her passion for Prince Royce, a Spanish music star. With a cutout of him in her room, it is evident that he is almost as important to her as her students.

“I remember her telling us on the first day of school that he was her boyfriend,” said senior Charlie Valentincic. “I was confused at first, but now we all laugh and joke about it in class, which is a good change of speed from some of my more difficult classes.”

Whether it is her love of teaching, her unmatched high spirits, or her love for Prince Royce, Señora Lev will brighten your day and make you want to learn. Prince Royce doesn’t know what he is missing with Lake Forest High School Spanish teacher Marni Levinson.
