Gregor Sharp
In a busy world full of work, classes, and clubs, working to make a difference in the community is often difficult, if not impossible. Despite this, for junior Gregor Sharp, acting to better our school and community isn’t simply a duty: it’s a lifestyle.
“Gregor is a thoughtful, inquisitive, and compassionate person,” said junior Will Meyer. “He does his best to create positive change anywhere he goes.”
Inside LFHS, Gregor is a member of numerous clubs, and can be seen giving speeches, writing papers, and leading debates. “He’s always passionate, and has a really driven tone to his voice,” said junior Hailey Kowalski.
Gregor’s passion has driven him to accomplish incredible feats. Last November, Gregor co-founded We Act Now, a local student environmental group. Over the past few months, Gregor has worked to grow this group from a loose association of students into a substantive organization.
According to senior Tegan Heswall, a We Act Now Executive, “Gregor is someone who is great to collaborate with. He always has another idea on how to improve something, and inspires the vision to get it done.”
Gregor’s leadership, tenacity, and passion has touched all aspects of the city in ways that it never has been before. Over the summer, hundreds of pounds of trash and debris were removed from local ravines through We Act Now. Beyond this, as the elected co-Secretary of Publicity and Outreach, he has expanded his vision on an international scale through partnering with organizations such as Earth Uprising and the Future Coalition.
“Gregor has built something amazing by bringing people together as a team,” said We Act Now Vice President Bella Rauch.
Although making a substantive difference is often difficult, Gregor’s leadership, tenacity, and passion have touched all aspects of our community. Perhaps we could all look to Gregor as an example on how to do the same.
