Mr. Peter Lubliner

Mr. Peter Lubliner

If you see English teacher Mr. Peter Lubliner walking through the halls of LFHS, it’s easy to be intimidated by his seemingly grumpy vibe.  However, each of his student can confirm that Mr. Lubliner goes above and beyond to help his students in any way he can. Whether it’s acting out a scene from a book or film his students are studying, or spending weeks giving his sophomores essay feedback for the perfect rewrite, ‘Lubs’ makes sure all of his students are engaged in high school life.

“Everyday I look forward to film because of the style Mr. Lubliner teaches in. He means to come off as grumpy but it’s hilarious,” senior Claudia Delhey said. “He makes class not only fun but a way to learn so much. He genuinely cares so much for his students, and has helped me become a better writer. I am so grateful to have him as a teacher before I go to college.”

Mr. Lubliner teaches sophomore English and Film, both of which he is incredibly passionate about. He worked as a film writer in Hollywood for several years before coming to Lake Forest to teach, where he now passes on his love of writing to the students lucky enough to have him. Each of his students can attest to the time and care he puts into his classes, stemming from his love of the subject and genuine compassion for the kids he works with.

“I’ll never forget the day in class that I was super hungry because I hadn’t eaten and I had practice after school; he went and grabbed me some candy from the English office. It just shows how much he truly cares about his students,” senior Dani Verlen said.

Despite his sometimes scary demeanor, Mr. Lubliner is truly an exceptional teacher who does whatever he can to help his students stay afloat in the challenges of high school. His willingness to make jokes about himself for the entertainment of his students makes his class one to look forward to. Consider yourself lucky if you become one of his students!
