Abby Wise

Making people feel welcome, joyful, and like they always have a friend can be a tough thing to do, but senior Abby Wise makes it look effortless.

New to Lake Forest her freshman year, Abby made friends instantly. Adjusting to a new school can be a tough experience, but Wise knew just how to do it.

“Abby is always someone you want to be around. She always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face,” said her sister junior Anna Wise.

Abby is involved in many activities, but volleyball is her strong suit. As the team’s setter, she is a key part of every play made in games, and her teammates wouldn’t want this responsibility to be in anyone else’s hands.

“She is so incredibly sweet and thoughtful, while still busting her butt to get where she needs to go. I have so much respect for her, and I have loved watching her grow from her freshman year to her senior year,” says freshman volleyball coach Mrs. Pranke.

Wise was voted captain for the JV team last season and led her team to many victories. Wise also got to play with her sister Anna.

“She motivates me to push myself in volleyball and is always there when I need her,” Anna said.

Besides her talent on the court, she brings a positive attitude and sportsmanship. These actions did not go unnoticed throughout the volleyball season, as she was pulled up to play with the varsity team.

“Abby is such an easy person to be around on and off the court. She’s so hardworking, and everyone notices how much effort she puts in during each and every game and practice. She adds so much to our team, and I love playing with her,” said senior Katherine Graham.

“She is definitely the nicest person I know; she’s the kind of friends everyone would want to have,” said Evie Frentzas. “ She brings positive energy wherever she goes and is always supporting those around her.”
