Mrs. Alana Hender

After growing up in Lake Forest and attending Lake Forest High School, Mrs. Alana Hender came back to her hometown to raise her three children: Julia, Brody and Cooper. Her impact on adults and kids around the community does not go unnoticed.

Mrs. Hender is cherished for her involvement around the community. She is a loving mom, a great friend to many, chair of LFHS Boosters Grants Committee and much more. If you see her, she probably has a big smile on her face and is making others smile with her contagious laugh. 

She has had a large impact on senior Luke Pascke’s life.

“Mrs. Hender is always upbeat and looking for positives in everything! She is super fun to be around and is always smiling and laughing,” he said. 

She is one of the most supportive people around. She is a familiar face supporting any Scout team, any night of the week. She supports the community, the high school and the kids in any way she can. 

“Mrs. Hender is like a second mom to me. She’s always there when I need her and always the best and more supportive person to me and my friends,” said Ava Manelis, good friend of Julia Hender.

Mrs. Hender is one of a kind. She is always looking to make others feel welcome. Whether it’s always having her kids’ friends run around the house after school or watch them make a mess in the kitchen, she unwillingly makes everyone feel like family. 

“Mrs Hender is my favorite mom in the bubble!! She’s someone I’ve loved being around since I met her, when I was 10. She’s always treated me like family, is a great person to gossip with and fixes some great Italian cuisine. I know she’s someone who will be in my life forever and eventually will let me call her Alana” said Frances Hickey, long time friend of Julia Hender.

She is the epitome of a good mom. She is willing to give advice to those who need it, always puts her family first and works hard in everything she does. 

We are so lucky to have amazing moms, like Mrs. Hender in our community.
