Avery Robb

Avery Robb

Avery Robb is one of many smart, motivated, talented, hardworking, outgoing juniors at Lake Forest High School. But once you get to know her, you realize that there is much beyond what you see on the surface.

Robb is enthusiastically involved in a variety of aspects in her life. Whether it comes to JV soccer, tennis, schoolwork, her artistic talents, school spirit, or friends and family members, she values a lot more than the average junior.

As an enthusiastic member of the JV tennis and soccer team, she is always someone you can count on for some extra motivation. “She would always be watching my matches if she wasn’t playing, and the best part was she wouldn’t stop cheering,” said junior friend and teammate CC Carter. “She never lost her enthusiasm and would cheer me on the entire match.”

Robb’s school spirit is “unparalleled,” as Carter put it. It actually won her the “spirit scarf” on the JV tennis team- a phenomenon famous to the tennis program that is awarded to the person with the most spirit. Senior captain Caroline Murphy passed it down to her, who is confident Robb can wear it as it is intended, with an immense amount of school spirit.

“Our coach, Jenna Stern, made the ‘spirit scarf’ her senior year of high school when she was on the LFHS Varsity tennis team and four years ago she handed it down to Mary Doheny. Mary then handed it down to me and there was no doubt in my mind that Avery was the one I was going to hand it down to next,” said Murphy. “The scarf embodies the spirit of our team and the never ending support and love we have for each other. I know that Avery is going to wear that scarf loud and proud next year and I couldn’t be happier.”

Outside of sports, she pushes herself in other aspects of her school life. She is well known in the ceramics community for her amazing pieces. Much loved by her teacher, Mrs. Doucette, Avery is widely appreciated for her skills.

Avery makes beautiful pottery! She is not only talented, but she is humble,” says Doucette. “From the beginning, she made large forms with exciting surfaces. Plus, she is always happy to help a classmate who is new to ceramics!”

For fun, Robb spends a lot of time at CROYA and is a valued member of the CROYA community. Rick Day, a CROYA staff member, describes Robb as “someone who always brings an air of positivity to everyone around her. She has an amazing ability to be so inclusive of so many and at CROYA it shows.”

Besides her responsibilities, Avery dedicates a lot of her time to building strong relationships with her close friends. Close friend Carmel Hickey describes her as a “remarkable young lady.”

“What I love most about Avery is that no matter who you are, she will treat you with nothing but kindness,” says Hickey.

Avery’s attributes touch more than just the people she is close with. She is involved in many different activities in her community, so if you come across her, she might be worth getting to know.
