Ryan Klein

While the doors to CROYA may be closed, stuck in the ceilings of the building remain an abundance of paper airplanes left by senior Ryan Klein. For Rick Day, those paper aircrafts  are “a constant reminder of the pride Ryan takes in entertaining others,” and always puts a smile on his face.

The avid prankster and comedian is a beacon of light with a knack for finding a way to always bring a smile to your face.

“Sometimes with a completely straight face, he always finds a way to reference a random video or song seamlessly in a sentence and bound to make you laugh ,” said Lucy Rubinstein, who finds it often like a game trying to catch and understand his silly references.

Klein can often be found at Second City Chicago, showcasing his comedic charisma and performing abilities. Even when off stage, that charisma and charm remains present and there to always brighten your day.

Seen laughing in the halls, waving at you when you drive past him, or welcoming people into the CROYA community, Klein is also a strong support system to his friends and family. He is the first to check in and make sure the people he cares about, and anybody around him, are doing okay. Even if that means a quick outing for brunch to catch up.

We are all trying our best to find the positives in the trying times we are living through right now.

“When it feels agonizing to just get out of bed, whenever I’m feeling out of it,” Rubinstein said, “He asks me “Tell me three things you’re grateful for right now,” and that instantly reminds me of how fortunate I am to have people like him in my life.”

No matter what is going on in his life, he is genuinely committed to making sure his friends are at their best, and will do everything in his power to help them through tough times. Incredibly selfless and supportive, Klein always manages to point out the positives around him; doing so with grace, he gives everything he can to the people he loves.

Whether through comedy or genuine support, “he will be one of the closest friends you have and will never fail to bring joy into your life.” He is someone Rick Day is always excited to see come through the CROYA doors, and a friend you feel you have known forever.
