Henry Bernhart
Henry Bernhart is a true Renaissance man. When he’s not zipping by his teammates during a track workout, he’s perfecting his craft on the squash courts. Or maybe he’s making a clutch tackle in a game of rugby with his friends at West Park.
Whatever Bernhart decides to do, he gives 100% effort and sets an example for the people around him.
“We have a saying on the track team: you can’t choose your captains, but you can choose your leaders. Bernhart may not be a captain on the team, but he definitely is one of its leaders,” said senior Jack Arch. “He knows when to have fun and when to be serious during practice. He remains cheerful during the toughest of workouts, and, above all, he is friendly to everyone on the team.”
Cross country and distance track coach Matt Jerina called Bernhart a “great teammate who’s positive and carries an amazing personality.”
Bernhart’s upbeat attitude is a constant throughout his day. Even when the going gets tough in some of his harder classes, he still goes out of his way to raise the spirits of the people around him.
“I’ve had a lot of classes with Henry the past few years, and he’s the most genuine person I know. He’s never in a bad mood and gets along with everyone,” said senior Chloe Warsek.
“Henry Bernhart? What a guy!” said senior Billy Gardner. “Today’s fun fact: He is the best lab partner in all of Lake Forest High School.”
