Lauren Plante
As a second semester senior, it’s easy – sometimes even expected – to slack off and lose motivation, but senior Lauren Plante continues to push herself and others to always do their best.
Since joining the Varsity Poms team in the fall of her junior year, Lauren has made a huge impact on the girls and the program as a whole.
“She is one of the best teammates in the world. Being able to be on a team with her and watch her push herself and our teammates past their limits in the most positive way has been truly amazing,” said senior Lilia Simeck.
But not only is Lauren a star on the dance team that earned second place at Nationals, she also excels in the classroom where her strong work ethic and willingness to step out of her comfort zone allow her to flourish.
“Her work ethic in both English 3 Honors and World Fiction Honors was exceptional, and I could always count on Lauren to be prepared no matter what,” English teacher Ms. Van Skyock said. “In Speech class, she is blowing me away, once again, with her openness and willingness to try every speaking activity… as soon as she steps in front of our class, she smiles and owns it.”
Lauren has also been an academic TA in the past. Last year, she helped Mr. Covey in his AAA class, where her positive attitude and diligence helped the freshman not only learn new math skills but how to navigate high school as well.
Those lucky enough to get to know Lauren closely can attest to her unique sense of humor that is sure to have you laughing.
“Lauren is one of the funniest people I know. She can make me cry of laughter no matter what is going on,” Simeck said.
Senior Katie Bondoc added that “she is one of the funniest people I know and can literally make me laugh until I’m in tears.”
But above all else, Lauren is an amazing friend that you can no doubt trust to always be on your side.
“Lauren and I have been friends since before I can remember and she has always been someone I can rely on,” Bondoc said. “I can go for her for advice for pretty much anything and she has no problem telling it how it is which is one of my favorite things about her. I’m incredibly lucky to have her as a friend, and I honestly don’t know what I would do without her.”
Ms. Van Skyock couldn’t have been more right when she said, “Lauren is a stellar representative of LFHS, and I am really going to miss her when she graduates in four months.”
