Learning a new language can be frustrating experience. Struggling to say new words, conjugating, and listening to a new language are all very difficult unless you have a good teacher teaching you.

Not only does Senora Andrea Serrato make learning a language easier, she makes it fun.

You would think having a language first period might be one of the more difficult periods of the day. But not with Senora Serrato; no matter what she will be full of energy and ready to help you get your day started off right. Whether it’s asking about what you did the previous night or making jokes with one of your classmates, she’s always making class fun.

“Senora is hilarious and never fails to make class fun,” said junior Wilson Irvin. “I think one of her best traits is her humor and ability to make the class laugh. Even when we’re taking notes or about to take a quiz, Serrato wants every student to associate her class and the Spanish language as fun. She wants every student to look forward to coming to Spanish class.”

Señora Serrato is in charge of the Chinese exchange program here. Outside of school, she enjoys water parks and traveling to Mexico to see her husband’s family.

Junior Blythe Karras said she appreciates Serrato’s patience.

“Whenever I’m confused about a concept, I never hesitate to get help from her. Not only is she really caring and helpful, she’s one of the funniest teachers I’ve ever had!” said Karras. “She would go out of her way to help any of her students. She may be one of the most dedicated teachers I have ever seen.”
