Holly Doyle

In Early Bird classes, most of the sleep-deprived students with baggy eyes will shy away from participating. The main exception to this common theme, however, is junior Holly Doyle.

“It’s great to have Holly in class because, particularly in Early Bird, kids tend to be dead. But Holly’s always awake, alive, and happy. Holly has good stories to tell; she’s very funny, as well as being a great student,” said Environmental Science teacher Mary Beth Nawor.

Doyle manages a hectic schedule as a student athlete, from Varsity Swim to AP and Honors classes, so her weekdays are often jam-packed. What makes Doyle stand out, however, is how her positive attitude and optimistic personality rarely waver in the face of a challenge.

“Holly is one of the kindest people I have ever met. I have never met a person who manages to juggle an insane workload while also taking the time to cheer people up. If there is one person to visit when you’re having a bad day, it’s Holly Doyle. She is so caring yet extremely humble,” said junior Grace Gaston.

On the Varsity Swim team, which Doyle has been apart of since freshman year, Doyle is the model teammate; not only does she push herself, but she motivates her teammates to excel as well.

One of those teammates, senior Isabella Lewin, stated how during a set called “dropout,” where they swim until they can’t anymore, Doyle got the tired, out-of-breath team to rally on to cheer on the rest of the girls still swimming to motivate them to go faster and faster.

“Varsity swim is by no means easy, and she always finds a way to keep everybody smiling and everyone a little happier. She is an amazing motivator, and during hard practices, she is always the first person to start clapping and cheering someone on to an amazing finish,” Lewin said.

Doyle has many qualities and attributes that make her not just a great motivator, but a solid leader. Anyone who has the privilege of knowing her cannot help but adore Doyle and her optimism.

In other words as her teacher, Mrs. Nawor said, “Honestly, what is there not to love about Holly?”
