Lindsay Adams
When the name of senior Lindsay Adams comes to mind, many people think of the sweet, kind-hearted, 5’1” girl with the biggest heart. However, there is much more to her than what is seen on the surface.
Adams is hardworking in a variety of aspects of her life. Whether is comes to family and friends, schoolwork, school spirit, tennis, college prep, or extracurricular activities, she values a lot more than the average Lake Forest High School student.
Much loved by her art teacher, Mrs. Wendy Antrim, Adams is widely appreciated for her artistic talents, newly found when she first entered high school.
“Lindsay has always been a great person to have in the classroom. She is always complimenting her peers, or making suggestions on how they might improve their projects in a way they appreciate her input and ask for her guidance,” said Antrim.
She not only challenges her classmates, but expects a lot of herself as well.
“She is very demanding of her own artwork, striving for perfection in each piece she creates. I’ve had her in class for 3 semesters, and each time she strives not only to enhance her skill level, but to expand her creative outlook on art,” Antrim said.
Her love and passion for art transfers over into the rest of her school life.
“She was a wonderful student who was always academically engaged,” junior study hall teacher Mr. Dylan Johnson said. “She has great athleticism, just like her brother Connor.”
Besides school, Lindsay is an enthusiastic member of the Junior Varsity tennis team and has been an important part of the group stemming all the way back to freshman year.
“Lindsay is a perfect example of a team player. She is someone who always leads by example and keeps a positive attitude through all situations,” Coach Jenna Stern said.
As captain of the squad this past season, she helped lead the team to end with a second place title in the conference tournament. Adams secured many of the conference wins that led to the title with her doubles partner and fellow senior, Caroline Murphy, as the duo place second as an individual team during the conference tournament as well.
Even though she is extremely dedicated to her school-life, her family life is something that she also places a heavy emphasis on.
“She is probably one of the most family and friend-oriented people I know,” says CC Carter. “Even though I met her through the tennis program, she has become more of a friend than a teammate over the past three years. She places such an ample importance on the relationships she has with her family and friends and always puts so much time aside to keep the relationship strong.”
Senior Chloe Warsek admires her school spirit and optimism.
“When a ton of people were going to leave the Stevenson game early, she convinced everyone to stay and said she knew we could win. They ended up winning and it was the best game I’ve ever been to in high school,” she said.
Best friend senior Keaton Wilhelm called her “strong, observant, loyal, level headed and outgoing.”
It is clear that many of Lindsay’s charming characteristics are important in many more aspects of her life than just one. Who knew so much personality could fit into such a little body?
