Alex Panos

Alex Panos

Alex Panos may only be a sophomore, but he has already managed to steal the spotlight and make himself known around LFHS. Just last year, Panos trademarked himself as the first and only freshman to participate in Lake Forest’s newest A Cappella group, “Lowkey Treble.”

You may have seen Alex command the stage at the Lake Forest Fourth of July Festival, along with the rest of his group. At only 14, he had the courage to belt out the opening solo of Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” in front of hundreds of people. Needless to say, he captured the attention of every overheated, patriotic community member in that crowd.

“The first time I met Alex was the moment he stepped into his ‘Lowkey Treble’ audition. Instantly, he blew me away with his talent and his potential to shine the next four years at the high school,” alumna Maddy Javier said. “I can’t wait to hear about what he accomplishes in his time at LFHS. I’m just sad I wont be there to see it!”

As the youngest member of the group, Panos had some big shoes to step into, both musically and socially. He filled those shoes with no hesitation, partly due to his sassy, outgoing disposition.

“[He] doesn’t give a damn who you are or what you do, he will always tell it to you straight,” claims senior Michael Daniels. “Because of his “sass” and quick wit, Panos makes it known that he is not someone to be messed with.”

But Alex is not one of “those” underclassmen that neglects their own class and tries to associate exclusively with the older kids. Despite his booked and busy schedule, he always ensures he has enough time for the ones he’s held close over the years.

“I got to know Alex through classes we had together; the first time we really bonded was over an intense discussion of themes in the middle of English,” sophomore Lyn Stanley said. “My favorite thing about our friendship is just how willing he is to be supportive and listen whenever anyone he cares about needs him.”

He has talent, intellect, and maturity beyond his years. While he is among many at LFHS to shine in his designated activities, his bravery, dedication, and desire to go above and beyond sets him apart from many others.
