Sydney Leonardi
Junior Sydney Leonardi excels at everything she does; she takes first place at many track meets, gets high grades in the most challenging classes, and always knows how to make her friends smile.
“Sydney is a well-rounded student athlete and is one of the most humble people I know. I never see her complaining, and she is always supporting her peers. Whether it’s a practice or at school, she always has a smile on her face, and her positive energy spreads everywhere,” said senior Bridget Eckland.
As far as academics go, Leonardi is definitely a stand out student. Her schedule is packed full with AP classes, and she has extraordinarily high grades in all of them— yet she remains modest.
Leonardi’s friends adore her outgoing, supportive personality. She always tries her hardest to help her friends and teammates excel.
“Sydney is a great teammate; she is always encouraging us to go faster. She is so speedy and gives running her all,” said fellow teammate Juliette Prindle.
Leonardi went to State Thursday for the 300 hurdles B ut the 300 hurdles aren’t the only track event she is incredible at—she frequently places first in events such as the 800 and 400 meter run.
Last track season, Leonardi suffered an injury which took her out for the end of the season and prevented her from going to State.
“Sydney is one of the most hardworking and diligent people I know. Coming back from a major injury like the one she suffered from last year is hard enough but to come back and kill the season as much as she did is unbelievable. She is truly a powerhouse, and I am extremely grateful for her presence on the team,” said teammate Ava Schumann.
