Peter Elliot
One student who had been making moves in the media industry ever since his freshman year, Peter Elliot is a one of a kind personality. Elliot, now a sophomore at LFHS, is making his mark as a Scout every single day. Elliot is very involved in the school’s New Media program, as well as the Cross Country and Track programs here at Lake Forest, and you may see his name pop up on the Forest Scout every now and then as he appears as a guest writer.
Peter has a passion for sports, especially for sports journalism and broadcasting, as you can find him writing articles about the Northwestern Wildcats on collegefootballnews.com. You can find previews of football and basketball games for the Wildcats, as well as season and offseason news. From time to time he will be found on the sidelines of football or basketball games getting in-game footage or up in the booth color commentating alongside play by play announcer Connor Clark. Elliot can also be found making a variety of videos in New Media, as he has a tremendous talent for video editing and filming.
Not that Peter wasn’t already a well-rounded person, but he is involved in the Cross Country and Track and Field teams as well at the high school. Peter was featured on the varsity roster last fall on the state qualifying Cross Country team and is listed on the varsity roster for Track and Field this spring as well. “Peter is a hard worker who has an incredibly welcoming personality,” cross country coach Mr. Jerina said.
Teammates also love the energy and humor he brings to the table as well, creating a very relaxed yet competitive atmosphere to practice and meets. “The way he goes about himself on the team is quite impressive; he keeps everyone loose but is serious about performing well at the same time. He is a great guy to have around,” teammate Michael Raupp says.
Peter represents what it means to be a Scout day in and day out, and with his accomplishments already the sky is the limit.
