Mr. Adam Mocogni

Mr. Adam Mocogni

A math teacher, a badminton coach, a basketball coach, a flag football coach, and an all time jokester, Mr. Mocogni has got it all.

When not coaching, Mr. Mocogni will likely be in his math classroom, repeatedly saying “holy buckets,” telling stories, and fixing his hair. And teaching math excellently, of course!

“He was a fantastic teacher, holy buckets!” senior Charlie Wales said.

Mocogni balances his teaching and coaching skills so well.

“I like when he battles his math problems online while he tries to fit his face on the corner of the screen,” senior Andrew Crawford said. (Clearly, that’s something Mr. Mocogni is getting the hang of, just like his students are getting the hang of math.)

Senior Patrick Morehead added that “Mocogni has always been able to explain math in a more simple and entertaining way, which I think makes him such a great teacher. I’ve only had him for a year but he’s a really nice guy with a ton of jokes.”

Mocogni attended Lake Forest High School and played basketball as well. Now, as a teacher and coach for the varsity basketball team, his team had nothing but good anecdotes to share.

“Coach Mocogni is a really good coach and a hard worker. He cares so much about the team and all the players. He makes an effort to create a great relationship with all of us,” added Stephen Young.

“He really cares for every player on the team and is a big part of the team’s success. From your perspective as a fan, you might not see anything he does, but he is one of the biggest reasons for our team’s work ethic and preparation for each and every game,” Carter Mitchell said.

Oh, and one last thing, Michael Vallone insists, “I love Mr. Mocogni almost as much as he loves me!”
