After school Friday, Lake Forests Girls Lacrosse team took on out-of-state opponent Sacred Heart of Kentucky.

The Girls entered with a 4-2 record hoping to make a statement win against a tough looking Sacred Heart team. The Sacred Heart Valkyries had been a traveling team taking down teams from Georgia, Florida, and Ohio.

The Valkyries started off hot taking the first goal with the Scouts responding quickly. Lake Forest continued to hold their ground during the first half. They entered the break losing 5-6, leaping out to a hot start. Sacred Heart took a three point lead for much of the second half until Lake Forest found its footing.

The Scouts came back from its deficit tying the game. Sacred Heart finished off the girls after scoring a goal with about one minute left to take the win, 11-10.

Lake Forest dropped to 4-3 but hopes to rebound with a strong win against Saint Ignatius College Prep to improve their overall record. They maintain a 1-0 record in conference play with their next conference matchup being against a winless Libertyville group on Wednesday at home.
