Scouts Beat Zion-Benton 35-7

After a rough loss to their Libertyville rival the previous week, the Scouts welcomed the Zion Zee-bees to their home turf in a Friday Night lights game that would see the Scouts pick up their second conference victory 35-7.

About seven minutes into the first quarter, Robert Pasinato ran in a 15 yard run for a touchdown. After this huge touchdown and momentum on their side, Pasinato would go on to throw a passing touchdown to Graham Garrigan to make the score 14-0.

After the first half, with the score sitting at 14-7, the Scouts did what they do best and ran for two more touchdowns. At 28-7 the cherry on top was an interception returned for a touchdown by Linebacker Tommie Aberle, which made it 21 unanswered for the Scouts, leaving the final score of the game 35-7.

The Scouts put in the work to show out this week and feel their best going into their last four games of the regular season.

“We were all feeling confident, we had a good week of practice and we were hoping to show that on the field,” senior wide receiver Rocco Caputo said. “It all comes down to trusting your teammates and trusting that they will do their job.”

They certainly showed that trust off in the second half with a dominant display of offense. Still, there are things left to improve.

“We drew twelve penalties against Zion,” Caputo said. “If we don’t fix these issues we will have trouble winning games.”

The Scouts once again were able to control a game both offensively and defensively and do so dominantly. With the Libertyville loss in the rearview mirror and a win fresh on the mind, the Scouts will travel to Lincolnshire to face the 2-3 Stevenson Patriots on Friday September 30th.
