Dillon Kimbrel

Dillon Kimbrel

After making the JV lacrosse team two years in a row, some people might be deterred from trying to make the varsity team, but for junior Dillon Kimbrel, it pushed him even harder making him the #1 defensive midfielder on the Varsity lacrosse team.

Since elementary school, those who have known Kimbrel, have easily recognized him as the hilarious blonde-haired kid up for anything. “When Dillon was a kid, he was always up for an adventure. I remember he used to jump off his roof countless times in a row, or let his best friends slap him in the face just to get a laugh out of them,” said close friend Tommy Hetler.

While Kimbrel has always been the jokester, the hardworking side of him has always been evident. During the fall and winter, one could find him in the Lake Forest Recreation Center Gym lifting weights for hours on end, almost every single day.

This dedication has certainly paid off for him on the lacrosse field. “There is no one on the team who has worked harder than him this offseason. He has become a player who no one in the state can beat one on one,” said junior Ben Winebrenner.

When not enjoying his time with his teammates and playing lacrosse, Kimbrel has always been a natural skier, not surprising given his Evel Kenevel-like personality.

When not skiing out west, Kimbrel makes frequent visits to Alpine Valley and Wilmot, spending most of his time wowing onlookers with highflying backflips and Candide Thovex-esque jumps.

“Dillon is fearless on the slopes and even strangers stop and watch him go off his jumps,” said close friend and teammate, Will Rolander.
