Julia Grum
Junior Julia Grum is an active member of the Lake Forest Dance Team Pom who battled back from a particularly challenging start of the year.
Julia was out sick for two weeks of practice, which anyone on a sports team knows can be stressful. Members of the LFDT poms team, which placed second in the nation last year, say there is not a moment wasted at practice, especially when Covid has limited the time for in-person practices.
Teammates of Julia said she was sure to ask a lot of questions to make sure she did not fall too far behind. Since returning, she is extremely motivated and working hard in and out of practice.
Despite a busy schedule that includes AP classes, Julia is calm, collected, and friendly.
“Every day last year, Julia would come to practice with such a positive attitude, and her dedication to the team helped set a good example for the rest of us,” sophomore Bentley Frost said. “She is one of the most kind and caring people I have become friends with through the high school, and I’m really glad that we have gotten a lot closer since last year.” Bentley couldn’t have said it any better!”
