Luke Chlystek

Senior Luke Chlystek is ready for life after high school. The baseball star will be playing for the John Carroll Blue Streaks come next year and the program is very lucky to have him. Aside from baseball, however, his classmates know Luke as an eccentric, high energy kid who just knows how to make them laugh.

Unfortunately, Luke was unable to participate in his last season of baseball due to COVID-19. This was devastating for a team that had high hopes going into the year. Although ready for the future, Luke was entirely focused on the season, hoping to make a push for State.

Teammate Michael Vallone has high praise for Luke’s commitment to the sport, saying, “Luke is the most hardworking, devoted first baseman I’ve ever played with. His energy pushes the team forward and everyone tries to match it.”

Luke is one of five seniors to commit to playing baseball in college.

His commitment to baseball is matched by his commitment to his friends. Luke’s sense of humor is appreciated by all those who meet him, but he is also blessed with the skills of conversation. He’s just a good guy to talk to.

A lot of Luke’s classmates miss his energetic presence. Senior Emma O’Connor said, “Luke is the funniest person I know, and he’s a really good person to talk to about anything. I miss seeing him.”

Luke is rarely seen without a smile on his face or on the face of the person he’s talking to. His demeanor seems to rub off on those surrounding him, and he is able to liven up a room all by himself.

“Whenever you need a good laugh all you have to do is hang out with Luke for five minutes. You never know what he’s gonna do or say next,” senior Jack Hartline said.

In a difficult time like this, Luke would be the perfect person to quarantine with. His commitment to the things and people he cares about is very special. He would keep you easily entertained and engaged. Boredom doesn’t agree with Luke.
