Teddy Hill

In just six days from today, senior Teddy Hill will be portraying the role of Lenny Ganz in this year’s fall production of Rumors. This iconic American farce is filled with a cast of 10 incredibly talented actors who have all worked tirelessly to bring Neil Simon’s masterpiece to life.

Most of these actors have been performing at LFHS since their freshman year; for Teddy, however, this will be his very first show. Ever.

“Teddy and I read well together at the audition for Rumors,” said senior Maliha Yousuf, set to play opposite Hill in the show. “Immediately, I was shocked by his amazing abilities as an actor, especially for being so new to all of this. I am so excited for everyone to see how talented Teddy is; he seriously makes it look effortless.”

While his natural skills may give off an effortless appearance, Hill has one of the most daunting tasks to accomplish as a new actor: a two and a half page monologue at the end of the show. Despite the frightening nature of this responsibility, Director Mr. Joe Pulio says that Teddy has handled it with determination and grace.

“He’s worked really hard on the monologue; he’s divided it into beats and taken any direction I’ve given him really well,” said Pulio. “Teddy is always determined to bring what I want to life; he never complains and he’s always willing to get feedback in order to improve.”

Teddy’s ability to let loose and think on his feet helps him not only on the stage, but in the hallways as well. While persistence and dedication are certainly some of his most admirable qualities, Teddy’s friends loudly applaud him for his ability to brighten anyone’s day.

“Though I have known him for a brief amount of time, I feel like I have known him for years,” said junior Cole Joseph. “He just has that kind of affect on people; no matter who you are or how well you know him, Teddy will always make you feel like his closest friend.”

Senior Abby Wickman, a friend in his AP Latin class, said that while Teddy is very energetic around his peers, he doesn’t bring any hectic or hyper energy to the classroom out of respect for his peers.

“I think that is a testament to his drive and ability to focus, as he doesn’t want to get the group off-track, he really seems to value small-scale engagement with his classmates.”

Teddy has a heart of gold, a passion for success, and maturity beyond his years. Whether you next encounter Teddy in the classroom, in the hallways, or on the stage, be sure to keep an eye out for his future accomplishment in all aspects of LFHS.
